Lydie.cc - OPNSense Router

The project involves building a custom router using recycled and "junkbox" components to replace an ancient LRT214 commercial router that had been running 24/7 for six years. The primary motivation was a desire to move away from closed-source hardware and cloud dependencies, favoring open-source solutions like OPNSense for better privacy and security.

Specifications:
-Motherboard: An old AMD DDR3 platform Mini-ITX board
-Network Interface Card: Intel X540-T2 PCIE Ethernet Card
-Chassis: A09 Black MINI-ITX 0.8mm SPCC + Flex PSU

The router build is part of a broader effort toward self-hosting, which also includes setting up a Home Assistant system for smart home automation.
